Tonight is my last night in Australia because I begin my journey back to England tomorrow. I have made many new friends and shared some of the exciting things we do in Orange Class. I have also had the chance to explore parts of Australia which are fascinating and beautiful.
I am sad to be leaving as I have had such a great time but I am really looking forward to seeing you all next Monday!
I hope you have enjoyed reading my travel blog and I will see you soon!
I’m currently in the state of Tasmania in Australia which is a small island below the mainland. Here they have an animal called the Tasmanian Devil. They were named this because of the high pitched screeching noise they make. They look cute but they have very sharp teeth! They only live in Tasmania and you can’t find them anywhere else in the world.
Today I went to a Wildlife Sanctuary where they save animals. There were lots of Australian animals here including kangaroos, wombats, wallabies and koala bears. I held a wombat and it fell asleep in my arms!
Yesterday I appeared on Australian TV News Report! The TV station came to film me talking at the university and interviewed me. It was broadcast on the 6 o’clock news.
Today I have been speaking at the conference at the University of Tasmania. I told lots of teachers and researchers all about the exciting things we do in Orange Class!
I also got to meet lots of interesting people from around the world!
I have spent a lovely week in Melbourne but tomorrow I will be flying to Tasmania to get ready for the conference I am speaking at. Melbourne is such a great place and I will really miss it. The views, nature and people are great!
I went for a walk to take some photos this evening. Do you like them?
Did you know that Melbourne is around a bay? This means that the sea on one side of the land is calm and on the other side it has HUGE waves! Tonight I went to the bay to take some photographs. I hope you like them!
Today I went to work in a special school. I helped the teachers to go on a school trip to a place called Scienceworks. There was a dinosaur exhibition – we learn about dinosaurs later in Y2.
